Bejing Games Photo Rhetorical Analysis

Observation: Soldier has a serious facial expression, fireworks are being shot from the birds nest, the inside of the birds nest is red, the night sky is without stars, the soldier is looking away from from the fireworks as if he is not even intersted in the games.

Inferences: The fireworks in the picture could be taken as missles. The dull red tone of the interior birds nest as well as the stern look of the officer's face gives the sense of a dark, raging, or warlike time. His non inclusiveness means perhaps that the government doesn't really care about the games in itself but moreso the image of the games in their country. The angle of the picture takes on the mind to see China as the nuclear super power that they are. The fireworks are added to serve as missles that they posses.
